“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body, and be thankful” (Colossians 3:15).
Few exciting things going on with our Fellowship.
1) Christmas Eve Weekend After surveying our group to get your feedback regarding Christmas Eve weekend worship, we will have a Saturday night service at 6:00 p.m. on December 23rd. There will be no services (Zoom or in person) on Christmas Eve, December 24th, so that you can be with your family.
2) Saturday Night Worship Begins Again In just two days, on Saturday, December 2nd, we will resume our Saturday night worship services at 6:00 p.m. This was our original meeting time when we started the fellowship over ten years ago, and it still seems to work the best for everyone’s schedules.
Saturday night worship services will be Zoomed for those who cannot attend in person. Just go to the church website (www.fellowship1.org) and click on the Saturday night worship link in order to get the Zoom information.
The location is the new meeting room at our house, which most of you know about since we had our Thanksgiving Fellowship dinner there just two weeks ago. We hope to see everyone at this service, whether in person or by Zoom!
NOTE: this will be a communion service where we share the Lord’s Supper together.
3) The New Meeting Room The room is functional but not finished, as you know. The carpet will hopefully be installed before Christmas. There are still some wiring issues for the sound system, and some minor painting left to do. Holiday decorations are in process as well. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we slowly finish things up.
We all will have a learning curve regarding how to use this room for our meetings. As we get used to being in this space, we will learn how best to arrange chairs and tables, how best to use the media, computers and TVs, and sound system. We will learn what we want to do with food for our activities, if anything… group dinners, light refreshments for fellowship after worship, etc.
We just need to be creative, flexible, and patient! Your ideas will be vital and appreciated!
It is exciting that we now have a nice meeting space to use any day of the week, instead of just three hours on a Sunday morning like when we were renting space in the elementary school. Please keep praying that God will use this room for His purposes beyond just our weekly worship services. We want to be open to His leading regarding the ministry that happens here, and we hope that God will be pleased to use this space for His glory.
4) Bad Weather and Sickness In case of bad weather, please stay home and remain safe, using your best discretion. If we cancel in person meetings, we will try to do so as much in advance as possible. Barring a power outage, even if we cancel in person meetings, we still will be able to worship together via Zoom.
When bad weather strikes, we will contact each of you somehow to let you know what is going on, either by text or call or email. Also, we will keep the church website updated as much as possible during these events.
If you are sick, please stay home and join us via Zoom. If you are worried about catching germs from others, but still want to attend in person, feel free to wear a mask, we won’t mind at all. We always will do our best to remain aware of the risks involved in meeting in person if there are any outbreaks of illness beyond normal, especially in the dark, winter months. Your health and safety are our concerns, and we want to make you as comfortable as possible regarding your options for meeting together as a Fellowship.
5) Christmas Outreach This Year As in recent years, we have sent funds to the orphanages in Guatemala City and in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, to help the kids have a happy Christmas with extra food and some needed fun and personal items. Pray for Laura and Edgar and the kids in Guate, as well as pray for Gloria and Hosman and the kids in Honduras. Whenever I get some photos, I will share them with you all so that you can see the impact of your generosity in these wonderful ministries!
If you have any questions, please contact me.
In His Grip,
Pastor Andy
